All Dahlia'd Up,  Farm News

The wild summer my computer crashed.

Our season started off in May with our main computer crashing. Sadly we never had a chance to get it fixed all season. I didn’t mind much other than I missed connecting with you. The time away was good in the respect I could focus just about completely on growing flowers and posting on social media. Therefor resulting in our instagram reaching over 1000 followers almost catching up to our facebook page.

Now, enough of all that. The rest of the newsletter is about the latest here on the farm followed by highlights of the season.

It was pretty incredible in so many ways. I can’t wait to share!

July Farm Elopement

“Stunningly gorgeous. A hidden gem of a family run farm nestled in the middle of some of the most beautiful views Alaska has to offer. The owner is so sweet, and genuine. She is truely dedicated to her craft and it shows in every detail she puts forth for her clients. I cannot wait for my our next visit. Definitely a photographers playground.”

Rave reviews from  a lovely elopement.  The high note for me was the grooms Mother surprised the bride by making sure I provided a bridal bouquet. The bride had originally told me when she booked the venue she didn’t think she needed one since it was only an elopement. I think she changed her mind. She never wanted to put it down or take her eyes off of her flowers. After a few honey moon days keeping them in water then taking them all the way back home to South Carolina on the airplane with her!

Successful South Anchorage Farmers Market

I’m still completely blown away how successful the South Anchorage Farmers Market has been. I show up with with an over-stuffed van full of flowers and less than 5 hours they are gone. I’m not even kidding. No matter how much I bring, I was sell out!

I can’t thank all my customers enough for all the support. We will defiantly be back with more flowers in 2019. Psst: If all goes well you’ll see tulips in May!

SOLD OUT AGAIN

Our tours and flower workshops were a hit so much so we will be offering 3 for season 2019. We had smiling faces, hugs, wonderful food and flower fun. The connections made and the new friendships formed has me still tear up.

There was spur of the moment late night flower foraging design session had me laughing and feeling extra special.

But truly for me seeing all the flowers creations all together is always a real treat for me. It’s always about the flowers.

We will be announcing the dates for season 2019 tours at the Alaska Chicks Vantage Holiday Market, December 1 and 2. Tickets go on sale in January!

PALMER POP-UP

I want to take a moment here and thank Non-Essentials in Palmer for hosting our flower pop-up a handful of times this summer. Providing flowers for our local customers is always fun.

Our Story Captured on Video

Out of all of it though the most emotional and wonderful for me was my time with photographer Christal Houghtelling. She spent a day following me around the farm, camera in hand capturing all the flower magic she could.  We wrapped the day with recording the voice over for the video talking about about how it all started. Saying I’m deeply touched by what she created doesn’t even come close to how I feel about it. The final product totally speaks for itself. What do you think? Watch it by clicking here.
