Misty Vanderweele is a born and raised 50+ year Alaska resident, author, leader, and farmer-florist who believes flowers are medicine. In 2013 Misty founded All Dahlia’d Up Flower Farm, a floral-tourism destination located in Palmer, after having what she calls a “spiritual rendezvous’ ‘ in the Dahlia garden a handful of months after the passing of her son.

She is a certified Alaska Grown farmer proudly joining the ranks of nearly half, (47%) of all the farms in Alaska being owned by women. Every summer you’ll find her tending the flowers, helping customers at her seasonal flower shop and creating vibrant flower-power magic with all the award winning blooms she grows. As well as, hosting several popular field-to-vase, farm-to-table events and dinner tours featuring local farm fresh food, and live music.

Misty has 9 book titles under her belt. Including Flower Power she authored in 2017 full of vibrant floral photography with outlined research sharing the signature poetic resonance flowers possess. And, Thrive Through Tears detailing her son’s first 18 years of life, how her daughter grew up knowing her brother would die and Misty’s promise to find a way to live a full life without him in it.
