    The Annual 113 First Ladies Luncheon in D.C.

    I had the most great and honorable opportunity to be on the floral design team for the 113th First Lady luncheon in Washington DC! How fortuitous it landed on the same year as our countries 250th birthday. I’m not sure how words and pictures can convey just how meaningful it was for me.     Over 600 bouquets, 11 elopement floral bookings, 50+ arrangements, 50+ farm walk tour goers and 2 sold-out dinner tours=’s more people getting flower high in 2025 than ever!  Besides flowers holding on into October with the long fall Mother Nature blessed us with I bring to you my most favorite season highlights.     Why white for the Pantone Color of the year for 2026?

    For the last several years I’ve kept a thumb on the Pantone Color of the year mostly for self entertainment. I like to see “how” each years choice is seen and plays a role in/on my Alaska Grown flower farm. It’s amazing to me how color influences our lives. It started in 2022 with purple/blue Very Peri, then a very on “brand” color for me, Viva Magenta, both in my favorite purple-ish color family. After that the color of a prom dress I had in the 80’s, Peach Fuzz. 2025 was Mocha Mousse not to be confused with the first drive-thru espresso hut in the Valley.
