Happy Fall, Almost Winter
I know we have snow now but I plan to hang on to the idea a bit longer that we are still in fall.
Every October when the farm is put to bed for the winter I immediatly start planning for the next season while everything is still fresh.
Then I sit with it until about December, sometimes tweaking the plan here and there. This year I’m focusing on creating a much lighter event load and as always looking at ways to stream-line other areas of the farm further. I believe now more than ever laying the ground work year after year is why I’ve been been able to grow my farm to a thriving endeavor. We all know though there is always room to bloom further.
Here is a little sneak-peak of two of our time saving goals.
- Have the flower design shop where we process all the flowers and create magic moved to the same location as the Flower Stand. Hopefully it’ll be an actual structure instead of those funky carports. Phase1 of moving the exsisting building is complete. The main goal being to get me near our wonderful customers when we are open.
- Look at ways to not over work during our most busiest months. Which are August and September. This last August I took almost 400 pics to my normal 50, had 1 Flower School, 2 Dinner Tours, My husbands birthday party and one small tour on top of, dealing with the weather, harvesting, farmers market, juggling our flower stand, CSA program and having a photographer come out to take some marketing photos for me.
Just reading the above makes me tired. And now today I heard about this thing called Covid Fatigue. Which I’m sure hasn’t helped me one bit.
However, overall 2020 was one for the records for us in part because we had a really great crew who are friends.
From left to right. Clayton, Jenna, Stormi, Stacie and Carol. Not shown is Maria as she had left for colledge.
Like their hoodies? Or how about our mug pictured at the top? Well now you can have your very own.

Wish us luck as we head into winter.
I hope you enjoy the season.
In our next blog I’ll be sharing all of the pumkins we grew this year.
Much love,
