From an Alaska Glacier to Our Flower Farm
From our very first Dinner Tour we held here on the farm in 2016 I had dreamt of having chef “Delicious Dave” dish out his magic with Alaska Grown food from my families farms, Vanderweele Farm & Glacier Valley Farm. Which last year my dream came true.
The food was incredible. Dave even plugged us over on his Instagram @DeliciousAlaska, I absolutely love his video where he captured the live music playing “I can’t help falling in love with you.”
But he’s the adventurous sort so when he said he wanted to cook again for us I was surprised, but delighted.
As of yesterday we have him for both our 2022 Dinner Tours in August and September and I can’t tell you how freaking excited we are to have Dave back.
Food & Wine called Dave one the best chefs in Alaska. Dave is the resident chef at the Sheldon Chalet in the outer regions of Denali National Park accessible only air. In the Article Dave boosts about his view saying “My cutting board, where it sits, what I can look out and see—I get overwhelmed even talking about it.”
Our goal this summer is to create a “kitchen” with a view for him. The glacier might be pure splendor, but on a good day here on our farm you can see Pioneer Peak, Lazy Mountain, the Butte and the Matanuska Glacier and of coarse our gorgeous blooms.
Grab your Bae for Summer Date Night on the Farm…
A question we get often is, would my husband have a good time at one of our tours or events. My answer is always the same, Absolutely.
We are a working farm and 2 in one. Meaning All Dahlia’d Up is located right in the middle of the largest vegetable farm in Alaska, VanderWeele Farm, think tractors, and Alaska Grown everything.
Yes, our events make great summer date nights! You’ll both enjoy our Alaskan field to vase, farm to table experience.
