Small, personal and relaxing
When I set out to do the exclusive flower farm tour and workshops my aim was small groups of 10 or smaller to ensure a private touch the heart experience. I wanted to keep them around two hours, provide information about growing dahlias in Alaska and have the participants to be able to take home their very own dahlia arrangements. It was also important for me to drive the Alaska Grown lifestyle home and I thought what better way to do that then to share Alaska Grown Foods.
And since I hadn’t ever had the workshops before I had to start somewhere.
I’m thrilled to say I’m pretty sure my goals were accomplished. And will be doing more next year.
The feed back has been nothing short of amazing!
On August 22, we had our final tour and workshop of the season. It was small but very personal and most definitely relaxing.
Annette Johnson had this to say: “Everyone should take a couple of hours at least once to do this. Its relaxing, informative and you learn a lot about Misty, her family and Dahlias! I will have them in my garden next year. Her story is emotional and moving. It is wonderful.”
Joyce McNiven wrote: “Loved how I felt right at home. My favorite part was learning about how the process of growing dahlias is done. Making an arrangement and the sit down lunch.”
In January we will be announcing the workshop and tour dates for 2016. The best way to be in the know and get updates is to sign up for our newsletter. We can only take 10 participants per tour so be sure when the dates are announced to grab your tickets. The tour and workshop were such a hit, I’m looking forward to bringing them to you for the flower season in 2016.
P.S, Hope to see you next year. Here is the link to the newsletter signup. You can read all current and past newsletter for this year too. ===> https://mistyvanderweele.com/newsletter
