Expanding my floral knowledge
This summit was one for the books. I had so much fun.
My first summit was back in 2017 which was the very first annual slow flowers summit that was offered. I knew then it wouldn’t be my last.
I try to go every year for the shear fact I believe in expanding my floral knowledge as well as I love being inspired and seeking that one “ah ha” that will take me further. Giving me a piece or pieces of information to better myself as a human, as a farmer, as a floral designer.
This year the two-day slow flower summit 2023 was held at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens in Seattle. The speakers were on point and truly phenomenal. Highly recommended.
Myself and 4 other floral professionals created an entrance installation in the red, white and blue pallet. Not my favorite but I think it turned out beautiful. I like how it frames the water fountain.
We were given totes full of everything we needed with the focus on sustainable none foam floristry. So armed amazing flowers, chicken wire, binding twine, agra-wool (a non-foam alternative) and a step stool we got to work.
What do you think?
