Alaska Flower Farm Coined as being a Boutique Flower Farm
Without a doubt one thing for sure I know is we grow gorgeous vibrant flowers here. We also gear our entire growing season around our summer dinners, immersive flower retreat, farm walk tours and our little flower stand.
The queen of the slow flowers movement, Debra Prinzing of the Slow Flowers Podcast coined my Alaska Flower Farm, All Dahlia’d Up as being a “boutique flower farm” during my podcast interview with her.
Although my farm as been referred as being boutique before I’ve never thought of my farm as being “boutique.”Â
When I hear this word I think of fancy little buildings full of high end goods and trinkets. Even this french word bou-tique sounds fancy.
Yes, you could say our flowers and majestic scenery are “fancy” but in regard to everything else around here. Charmingly unique and repurposed, yes. But fancy? That is debatable.
We do not have fancy outbuildings, shops, barns or greenhouses, (yet.) Nothing to really to convey polished or high end.Â
Debra’s endorsement had me baffled.
I knew I needed further clarification so I headed over to the big G.
Google says boutique means “Shop” aka a small store or small company that offers specialized products or service.Â
Â
AH Ha, we do have that!
The question I always ask myself when planning our events is, “how do I want people to feel.” My answer is always the same. I want people to feel special and inspired with every touch point of our flower farm.Â
I’m always on the look out for ways to elevate the specialness without causing a ton of extra work on my end. You could say I’ve figured out the winning formula.
I make sure I create, special Dinners, special Incredible flower vibes, and special sharing of it all.Â

This IS the name of the game for me.Â
Â
Other than the dedication of growing premium flowers. Creating special experiences is what we do.Â
From the gardens and stunning growing spaces to the sweetpea flower tunnel, farm dinners and events that we design anew every year.

Come see our special summer event line-up here.
