Flower Power Podcast Interview with Sarah The Market Maven
I was delighted when Sarah Jensen, the Market Maven of Washington, reached out and asked to interview me for her podcast.
I first had heard of Sarah when we were co-hosts on the virtual Alaska’s Farmers Market Summit. She impressed me with her knowledge about marketing, a favorite topic of mine and was excited to get the chance to meet her in person.
Something about when the interviewer’s favorite flower the dahlia, is the number one flower you grow comes to your farm makes for an incredible experience for the interviewee and the listener alike.
Our interview was comfortable and cozy sitting at my dining room table. We talked about all things flowers, my story and of corse both farms, mine and Vanderweele Farm.
After our heart-touching recorded chat, my grand-dog Tulip and I took Sarah out to tour all the growing spaces. I think she enjoyed herself immensely. She took out her phone and started snapping picks.

“The trellised flowers in the photo below are Sweet Pea, another varietal of filler that is grown on the grounds (and it just looks pretty for those farm-to-table dinners!) The workshop is a repurposed little league “dug out” which makes a great work space!
