    2024 Season Highlights, Flower Power is Real

    All Dahlia’d Up Survived and Thrived despite the loss of our main Facebook page hacked to the point of no return a couple months before the ringing in of 2024. From increased local foot traffic, customers driving from Anchorage, more men buying flowers, the pink pig fair special, and gorgeous flower topped cheesecakes galore. Ending the season with more dahlias than ever with a 35% increase in gross profits and about a 50/50 split of new and returning customers.     Most of us inherently know spending time in nature can be a boost for our health. But when we add in flowers from our farm you have a complete package for personal care. Like Miley’s song, “I can buy myself flowers.”  Which is great. But we take it a step further around here. Additionally we are also two farms in one.     Flower and ice luminaries are a beautiful fun and creative way to add a special touch to any occasion.  I’ve made these large flower & ice luminaries with flowers in them for 10 winters in honor of my late son, Luke. Which means bearer of light.  He was also almost a Christmas baby born on the 22nd. It has always seemed so fitting to make them for all these reasons especially since I live in Alaska where we seem to have endless darkness a few months out of the year.
